Drenthe is home to the oldest monuments in the Netherlands. Explore prehistory with impressive, giant boulders - as many as 52 in total. In Rolde, you'll also find one within walking distance of the Resort!

This beautiful heathland is worth exploring. You will find bog lakes, pine forests and small sand drifts. In short; the perfect place for lovely walks.

Highly recommended for both young and old. Our favourites? The Iberenplas and 't Nije Hiemelriekje. The latter has also had a super cosy beach pavilion since last summer. Ultimate enjoyment!

Wandelen met de boswachter op donderdag.
Elke donderdag is er een wandeling met gids speciaal voor gasten van onze parken. Een natuurgids van Staatsbosbeheer vertelt je graag alles over het Drents-Friese Wold. Wat maakt dit natuurgebied zo bijzonder en welke flora en fauna vind je hier?

• De wandeling start om 13:30 uur vanaf Buitencentrum Drents-Friese Wold (30 minuten vanaf Roodewoud).
• Duur: 1,5-2 uur
• Afstand: 3-6 kilometer

Want to know all about the history of the giant dolmens? Visit the Hunebedcentrum Borger. Free to visit for children up to 4 years old.

Rolde has a beautiful old church that is definitely worth a visit during your stay: the old Jacobus church. Construction of the church was completed in 1428 and the tower is still a real landmark today.

This museum is highly recommended, especially with children. Besides an impressive art collection, the museum also houses the largest doll's house in the Netherlands. A tip from us; book a guided tour!

At 'Blij van Toen' you will find that one find. Be it vintage, curios or antique, a painting or our handmade accessories. In the shop in Rolde (near the Roodewoud) you will find original items full of character and with their own story. Worth a visit!

Set off with the DAF through Drenthe. You drive with the DAF through Drenthe villages with old farms and across the countryside. You can look for dolmens or Bartje. Along the way, enjoy a drink on a terrace. Eropuit met een Daf is a hilarious and fun way to spend a holiday in Rolde!

Visit the largest open water park in the Netherlands. Jump from spectacular ramps or launch yourself on the giant blob. Water fun for the whole family!

Balloo is home to the largest flock of sheep in Drenthe, making this outing incredibly fun with children. There is also a cosy information point where you can have a nice cup of coffee!

Located around and on recreational lake De Kleine Moere, the climbing forest offers a challenge for everyone from young to old. There are six courses varying between two and 12 metres in height.

Nog zo'n échte aanrader met kinderen, bij het Buitencentrum vind je namelijk een prachtige wandelroute. In de winkel van het buitencentrum vind je producten om de natuur mee in te gaan, zoals verrekijkers en wandelkaarten. Maar ook verrassende souvenirs en cadeaus als natuurboeken en unieke streekproducten. 

Bij het buitencentrum is Paviljoen de Woudstee gevestigd, een sfeervol restaurant met binnenruimte en buitenterras.
